ROYAL OPENING OF NEW MORTHYNG CENTRE AT BIRKENHEAD
After lunching with The Queen on her recent visit to South Yorkshire, Morthyng's Chief Executive, Chris MacCormac, was honoured again in Birkenhead.
Despite the snow in South Yorkshire, Birkenhead was relatively clear and The Duchess of Gloucester arrived spot on time to officially open the Morthyng Vocational College building.
Chief Executive Chris MacCormac (pictured, showing Her Royal Highness Morthyng's training suite) said:-
"I was delighted to be invited to lunch with The Queen in my capacity as President of the Chamber of Commerce. To have the Duchess of Gloucester visit less than 2 weeks later was also an honour, not only for me but for the staff and trustees of a Rotherham based charity and for all the young people who were presented to Her Royal Highness on the day".
The Duchess spent over 40 minutes touring the premises, meeting staff and learners and seeing the work carried out at the College. At the end of the visit HRH unveiled a plaque (pictured) and signed Morthyng's visitors' book.
