What is Train to Gain?

Train to Gain supports individuals to improve and develop skills whilst working and to achieve a qualification. 

Through Train to Gain at Morthyng individuals can achieve an NVQ in Business Administration, Customer Service, Retail or Warehouse.

NVQ'S at all levels will allow candidates to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a national occupational level required by employers, with the candidates proving competency in their job role. 

NVQ assessments are carried out where the candidate is employed. Candidates will be -

-  visited by an assessor in the workplace
-  assessed by different methods (observations, questions, witness testimonies)
-  supported whilst building a portfolio of evidence

What do I do have to do to achieve an NVQ

  • Administration Level 2
    Consists of 5 units - 2 mandatory units and 3 optional units
  • Administration Level 3
    Consists of 6 units - 2 mandatory units and 4 optional units
  • Customer Service Level 2
    Consists of 6 units - 2 mandatory units and 4 optional units
  • Customer Service Level 3
    Consists of 8 units - 2 mandatory units and 6 optional units
  • Retail Level 2
    Consists of 6 units - 1 mandatory unit and 5 optional units
  • Warehousing Level 2
    Consists of 8 units - 2 mandatory units and 6 optional units

Am I eligible for the funding?

Yes if you -

  • are over 19
  • have less than 5 GCSE's grade A - C or equivalent
  • are legally entitled to work in the UK
  • are currently employed

You will be accredited through
