    Good News Story – Kenzie

Kenzie has independently secured a work trial that resulted in a placement to support himself to build key employability skills including enhancing his social skills. Feedback from the placement manager was that Kenzie had shown great motivation, ‘getting stuck in’ and giving all tasks a go with no complaints. They were that impressed Kenzie was offered part time paid employment in the role of a housekeeper at the hotel. (He has declined this as Mum says he does to feel ready but that fact it was offered speaks volumes for his success in the placement.)

An even brighter future lies ahead

Rugby Borough Football Academy year end update

It has been yet another hugely successful year on the grass for many of our current and former academy scholars.

It is with huge pride that we can currently boast
20 plus players playing Semi professional football between steps 1-4 in England

40 plus are also playing at step 5-6 while 9 more continue to ply their trade professionally & Semi professionally across the globe in Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the USA.

2 more of our scholars making step 5 by playing for the Rugby Borough first team making it at total of 13 in 18 months at The Nationwide Windows Arena.

Incredibly we can this year also celebrate Kailan Goulds New Zealand Premier League title win with Wellington Olympic and several more international caps for Ben Starkie after Tanzanias African Cup of Nations qualification.

More proof that our development route into the professional and semi professional game all over the world continues its success under the Morthyng Group FEP banner.

Keep up the good work, we are very proud of you all

Learners views on Morthyng – Mubasshira

I am Mubasshira. I have recently achieved English Level 2 from Level 1 and also, I have passed my GCSE in Maths with a Grade 5 within a very short period of time. Being from a different country, I was lacking the English and Math skills required to go into University. So, I decided to take my English, Math and Work Skills lessons here in Morthyng College.

Before getting started, I did not really think I would be able to progress as quickly as I did, however with the individualised help from my Tutors, I was able to finish my GCSE Maths and Level 1 in English within 4 months.

Talking about the sessions, it has always been really engaging and effective, and this is the reason I have got 100% attendance. There is no rush in lessons, which means every learner is learning at their own pace. The classmates are really helpful as well. As a part of our lessons, sometimes we engage in different fun activities which allows us to refresh our mind. We also get the opportunity to share different ideas and events with our tutors.

Learner good news story – Chantelle

Chantelle is doing excellently across her full programme. Her Mum shared in the annual review today that Chantelle has never been happy or settled in an educational setting until she came to Morthyng.

Chantelle has never felt safe anyway but she feels safe in Morthyng. She would never walk down the road to school but now she will get up and get on a bus to come to College. This is great personal progress for Chantelle who is now feeling so much more positive about her future.
